Week 29

It has been a weird week! No school on Monday, school Tuesday, snow day Wednesday, school Thursday and Friday. I kind of liked it!

My appointment went well. For the glucose test I had to drink a super sweet orange drink. I can't remember how many ounces it was; it didn't look like much but the more I drink the worse it got! An hour later I had to have blood drawn. They are testing to see how my body is breaking down glucose and looking for gestational diabetes. I am crossing my fingers and toes that it comes back OK.

The whole family was with me this visit. My own doctor was available so she got to meet the boys. We all heard a nice, strong, fast heartbeat. The heartbeat was around 155 bpm. The doctor said "it sounds like a girl!" so I filled her in on our news. She wasn't surprised!

My "bump" is measuring at 29 and a bit which is on target. BUT - I didn't gain any weight. At first the doc seemed OK with this but then she said she wanted an ultrasound to measure the baby. So when I go back in four weeks I will have an ultrasound and my doctors visit rolled into one. I love another chance to see the baby. Luckily there is an ultrasound machine in her office so we can take care of two things at once.
