This week was not nearly as exciting as the previous one! I am starting to get a little worried about how unprepared we are for this baby. I haven't washed any baby clothes. We purchased an infant car seat back in the fall but it is in storage. We don't have anything for the baby to sleep in when we first come home. I supposed we could put the crib up but we need to look for a bassinet or pack and play, something like that.
I had a doctors appointment today and it went very well. First we had an ultrasound to guesstimate the baby's weight. While the tech was checking out the baby she asked us if we know the gender. We said that we had been told it was a girl to which she replied "oh it is definitely a girl!" She even put an "xx" on the screen. So I suppose I can stop saying I think it's a girl and go with "It's a girl!" After measuring the baby she determined that the baby is over four pounds and in the 70th percentile.
Once I saw the doctor she told us that she does not think I am going to have a 10 pound baby. My youngest was over 10 lbs so I assumed this one would be just as big. But the doctor thinks she may max out around 8 pounds. I haven't bought any newborn diapers since my youngest never wore them. Guess I need to run out and get a box, huh!
I didn't gain any weight, again. My BP was great, in fact, I thought it was a little low. But again, the doc was happy with everything. I now have to go back to the doctor every two weeks. That means we are getting close to the end!
til next week -
